Julia is experienced in teaching dance to all ages, levels and abilities. The kinds of classes she teaches range from Ballet and Contemporary, to creative, improvisation, relaxation, and contact improvisation classes.
As a freelance dance teacher, she offers both community and professional dance classes and workshops.
Please contact her for more details should you wish to arrange a booking.
Below are two of the main classes that Julia currently delivers.
Julia's class is release-based, and involves moving in and out of the floor. The class explores the connections and movement possibilities of the body as whole, and how to move in a more efficient way; through spirals and the use of weight and suspension.
The class sometimes ends with led improvisation; using the use of imagery and the engagement of the senses as a source to inspire and explore new ways of moving and responding.
Mind to Move:
Mind To Move is a relaxation and movement class that focuses on supporting mental health and well-being. The class begins with some breathing, relaxation and visualisation exercises, before moving into gentle movement improvisation. All levels are welcome - no dance experience is necessary.
Julia also delivers Mind To Move Workshops, as a part of The Box Project.
