FREE Mind To Move Classes & sharing of The Box | A Glimpse - 15th of July



During her residency at St Columba's, Julia will be delivering two FREE Mind To Move classes and an excerpt sharing of The Box | A Glimpse.


Mind To Move is a mindful movement practice devised and developed by Julia James-Griffiths. The practice focuses on supporting mental health and well-being needs through mindful relaxation and movement; connecting the mind and body together to bring release. The class usually begins seated with exercises in breathing, relaxation, and visualisation, before moving into led movement improvisation.


Mind To Move Community: 10 - 10:30am (15th July)

All levels are welcome, no dance experience is necessary. Aimed at those aged 18-65+


Mind To Move Dancers: 11:15 - 11:45am (15th July)

This class is specifically for those with dance experience

Excerpt Sharing of The Box | A Glimpse: 5pm (15th July)

The Box | A Glimpse is a short dance theatre piece based on the full-length piece of The Box. The work explores the impact depression can have on an individual, and how our society responds to it. For more information about the work click here.


During her residency, Julia will be revisiting The Box | A Glimpse and considering what future the work can have now in light of the pandemic. She will be sharing what her and her dancers have explored in an informal sharing at St Columba's in Edinburgh.
