About:
Scottish choreographer Julia James-Griffiths will be delivering another Mind To Move workshop this October as a part of The Box project. The community movement workshops are for anyone with experience of mental health issues, no dance experience is necessary.
Each workshop will involve discussion, relaxation exercises, and led movement improvisation, with a focus in exploring and enjoying the benefits of exercise and creative expression. Participants are encouraged to take part in whatever way they feel comfortable. The workshop will end with a sharing of The Box (short) and an opportunity for participants to give feedback.
The Box (short) is based on the full-length piece The Box which is a contemporary dance theatre piece that explores the impact depression can have on an individual and how our society responds to it. For more information about The Box please click here
